Arriving in Rio and our first night

So we arrived in Rio at 20:40 local time but due to building work on the runway we didn't actually get to our bags until over an hour later. We jumped a Taxi to El Misti Hostel which didnt take too long. The ride was ok apart from the driver kept forgetting to turn his indicator off...FYI bloody annoying!!. ..
Once settled we went straight to bed and watched a film on my New Netbook :-).During the night we woke up with the noise of a monsoon downfall. Which was very loud. Never heard such loud rain in all my life.

We woke up this morning bright and early, had a shower in this very small washroom and then went down for breakfast for 8am. Once we stuffed our faces with cheese and ham we took a nice long walk along the Copacabana beach. Come across an amazing looking lady who had a tiny bikini on...(I already told Andrew he can look but only on the sly as it is very disrespectful for him gawping next to me...who am I kidding i was gawping too ha!) Not seen any nice men yet..they are all walking round in their Speedos and Jesus creepers (AKA Mens sandals). On the walk along  the beach we come across ladies playing volleyball. By what they where wearing it looked like a game between Brazil and Canada. It was good to watch...lost interest thou in about 5 minutes. (Well i did but I am sure Andrew found it very amusing)

For about 12:30 we had lunch. We went to a locals bar and grill restaurant. It was an all you can eat place which we thought was good so after filling our plates with, salad, pesto pasta, chicken escalopes, chicken and rice and finally some pork. We got the check out to realise it is like bloody pick n mix at the cinema..its all done in weight. Obviously Andrews cost the most ha but I weren't far off. It was lovely though so I am sure we will go back but just put on the stuff we actually liked.

We are now in the room so I can write our first blog. Having a lay on the bed for 5 minutes to get over the carbs overload feeling and then off to find something else to do....

Hope this was an ok first blog, not really been to interesting as just settling in but we are on a tour tomorrow so will hopefully be better.
