Cusco, Spanish lessons and off to Ica and sandboarding

So while in Cusco we managed to find somewhere to do Spanish lessons..Wednesday morning at 9:30 5 minutes walk away.... Ok rewind 24 hours....
We are both at the bar having a drink, its pretty quiet. We are talking to people that we have met. The bar manager then comes up to us with a piece of paper with a grid on it. This is called Bar Bingo. You have to complete each line by taking up challenges. Louise thought it would be a good idea to take these up... Just so you have an idea of what sort of things she had to do....Kart Wheel, hand stand, moonwalk, change your top with someone else, get a bra, change shoes with someone. These where all pretty easy.. Louise managed these very well. The next few tasks were to steal the black ball mid game, this was also very easy with these sticky fingers. Then she had to do a grenade...This is to down a shot of jagermeister drop a shot of vodka and grenadine into a glass of red bull and down it.. This was also easy. While finishing the rows Louise managed to win free shots which she shared with Andrew and also managed to win a free t-shirt but the real price was to win a free nights stay. So to complete the challenge she had to down an alcohol slushie which was not easy. The guy Nathan behind the bar said it was easy and thought he could demonstrate but he wimped out with brain freeze half way so she made sure he signed her off on that. Louise then had to (sorry mum & Dad) down a drink through a condom. Louise managed to do this.. Andrew happily filmed but the footage will not be shown on this blog nor on Facebook... And lastly Louise had to do a beer bong. This consisted of putting a beer in a funnel and downing it. Louise was scared at first as she hadn't done this but guess what the challenge was completed in less than 5 seconds. (This footage we will show you in time) Once this was completed we won the free night!! We celebrated of course with more alcohol and shots. Loki do a thing called Blood Bomb Train. (Will add this footage too) where they mix a shot of Vodka with a dash of Grenadine and then mix it with Red Bull..Exactly what we do at home with Jaegermeister... So after another god knows how many, us both dancing on the bar and then staggering back to our room the night was finally over... Once back at our room our little friend Andrea wasn't too great so we had look after her being sick :-/.. It wasn't too bad, if we were sober it would of been a different story. One of our room mates was a nice Canadian man called Pete. He had also come back from a night out. After getting talking about music and telling how much I loved Bruce Springsteen he nicely played (While we were all in bed going to sleep) Thunder Road, Secret Garden and The River. Within about 10 minutes and the time being around 2:30am we were asleep.
Ok so the alarm going off at 8:30am wasn't pleasant. We headed to Spanish lesson for 9:30. Louise feeling very rough managed to get there without being sick. Well that was then but about an hour in the lesson good old huwey had arrived...Spanish then become very hard to learn. Imagine being hungover and someone speaking Spanish to you and expecting you to understand. Lets just say it felt like we where in a nightmare. After an excruciating 3 hours the lesson was finally over. We headed back home for a very long sleep. That evening we thought we would take it easy and so we just watched a film in bed... That night however wasn't so peaceful. Louise woke up at 1am by hearing someone gargling... after shouting Andrew she realised it was a young girl below him being sick. Luckily she wasn't sick
on any of our stuff but the smell was horrendous. You could tell she had been drinking bloodbombs. After Andrew getting the man at reception to come and clean it up we went back to sleep.
The next morning it was Spanish again. This even feeling fine was still confusing and hard for us so on the Friday we kicked it in and didn't go back. Instead we done a little shopping and booked our tickets to a place called Ica. Here is where we are going to a place called Huacachina.
After another 14 hour bus drive and a crazy taxi we pulled up at Banana's hostel where Rosie and Bobbie where waiting (met these lovely girls in Loki, Cusco ;-) they had already organised our room for us and the sandboarding so once we put our bags in our rooms it was sunbathing around the pool. The weather in this part of Peru is lovely. Being a little oasis in the middle of the desert is probably the reason why.
At 4:30pm we took the large sand buggies into the sand dunes. The sight was amazing it was just sand hill after sand hill. After a few crazy pictures we where ready for sand boardning. We decided it would be safer to go down on our stomachs so Andrew took the wrap and went first. After Andrew it was Louise and then Bobbie. The speed going down was great. To slow yourself down we where told to dig your feet in the sand. Once we where at the bottom we where waiting for Rosie. Lets just say that it was the most funniest thing we had ever seen. Rosie had gone down the first hill and disappeared she then reappeared by shooting out and off the sand and then landing with a thud and shooting past us and down in to our boards. Thankfully Andrew managed to catch this on camera so look carefully at the footage as you might miss it.
Once everyone had finished the buggy came to pick us up and take us to another hill, after taking some more photos we saw the next hill to sand board down and it was long and steepl, some of the group went down on their feet like snowboarders ( after they gained their confidence from the first one). Bobbie went first and bombed down the hill feet up and looked like she was going to keep going but eventually came to a stop, Louise's turn, again bombed straight. Andrew then went and done the same. Rosie however was a little cautious and decided to go down slowly. We then had to walk up a little sand hill at the bottom (well we thought it was the bottom). Once getting to the top we looked down and noticed the hill was humongous!!! We were all at the top for a very long time trying to decide on what way was the best way down. After about a 10 minute discussion we realised that there was no easy way and we had to all suck it up. We decided that we should race and all go together. Well Louise got into position to go and then realised after saying im going, oh no I am going that she shot down on her own. Let me tell you that I picked up speed like you wouldnt believe we must of been doing at least 30mph down hill. Once at the bottom I got the camera out to film Andrew and the rest. Well this was easily a you been framed moment. Through the camera it looked like Andrew had split in 2 but really he had just fallen off and the board went off without him. Bobbie shot past at some speed and then an Irish man was to follow. He nearly run Andrew over which was great.. Once at the bottom we had to walk up a very large sand hill to reach our buggy. This was awful, Louise had a trap nerve and wanted to be carried but this was not going to happen:-(
Once reaching the buggy our driver took us for another drive around the dunes and then home. For that evening we finished the night with a few beers and a bbq which was lovely.
Today we didnt do much. We headed to the oasis and had a race against Bobbie and Rosie on the pedlows. We won of course but when we got to the other side they said there boat wasnt working so we managed to very carefully swap without falling in and race again. It was true their boat was awful. We were moving our legs so fast but just wasn't moving. Them 2 however shot off :-( We decided to call our race a draw and we finished our race with an ice cream. The rest of the days was spent by the pool and bar as we wait for our bus to a place called Arequipa. Here we will stay for 3days and we will make sure that we do something fun enough to tell you about....
